THE WEBSITE UPDATE

It's been a long while since I've been active as an artist, and so coming back, I wanted to refresh the website. In doing so, a lot of the pages have been combined and the look of the site updated a little to feel less dated. I've made the site easier for myself to update and especially re-built it from the ground up! I also spent a long time optimising all the site media, taking the total size of the site from around 1GB down to just 50MB so far! This should leave plenty of room for future art, and improve loading times, especially on mobile!

After using this site for a few years, I think I've figured out that a good site is one that I am willing to update, meaning that it should be easy to replace and update elements, and now, that's what I've done!

RETURN TO ART

It has been a long while since I last did art seriously - in the past couple of years, I had been pre-occupied with university which ate up a LOT of my time. Thankfully, now I've graduated and got myself employed! No more exams for me! Now that I'm much more stable, I'm feeling ready to resume art again. It's always been a part of who I am and I've been feeling absolutely terrible without it in my life. The stress of it has built until this point. Even re-building the site, re-organising all my old art, and updating all my art files and programs has taken some of that stress away. I really want to get back into regularly uploading online, so that's going to be my priority going forward!

A large part of why I fell off in terms of uploading and drawing is the latest trend in social media. It's become progressively harder for artists to upload and get noticed - at every turn, social media apps implement changes that suppress artists more and more and it really felt like a losing battle. I've always had an issue with getting myself noticed and growing my audience and having people enjoy or engage with my art. Recently, BlueSky has opened up and it's a thriving place for artists due to the site structure, the algorithm and the features of the site. It's given me the push I need to try to take art seriously again.

I hope that the internet and my friends welcome me back after such a hefty break!

BLANK SPOTS ON THE SITE

Some of you looking around the site may have noticed some place-holder squares and missing images. This is intentional! I promise!

I plan to draw new art to fill these spots, including profile pictures for my characters that are up-to-date. Previously, I had filled my site with various sketches but I'm unwilling to do that this time. If I really want to grow as an artist and be serious, I have to push myself. So that's why these spaces are there.

ARTWORK IN THE PIPELINE

Prior to my hiatus, there was a lot of art in the pipeline. Most of which was 80-90% complete, but due to my morale, I just never got around to finishing and publishing them. So, hopefully this will give me a strong push to finish them and start on social media again! I've got various anime and furry themed pieces in the works, including Saria from Ocarina of Time, Lady Skadii from Monster Girl Doctor, and Roxy from Mushoku Tensei. I personally enjoy drawing a good mix of stuff that I feel passionate about, but I know that it does NOT work for traction on the internet. People only tend to follow an account if it has a gimmick or single theme. For now, please do entertain me as I try to find my focus. In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy drawing whatever I was drawing!

Some themes or things that I really want to draw in the future is fanart of Mushoku Tensei (which I have become crazily obsessed with over the past few years) and I would like to do a style-study of Shirotaka - the illustrator who draws for the light novel and promotional art for the series. I'd also like to draw Rebecca and Lucy from Cyberpunk Edgerunners; and Midna again - though maybe in both imp and Twili forms this time. I'm also dying to draw Nia from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 because I've become completely infatuated with her!

On the furry side, I want to draw portraits of all my characters and give them a visual refresh to update what they'd look like in my style now. It's been far too long. Brai-Brai is mostly up to date as she's the most recent one I've drawn and I'm really happy with her design. Veronica just needs a couple of new drawings. And Magnhild needs a whole make-over - her design looks painfully old to me and I need to improve on her facial anatomy a lot too. It's been bugging me!

Eventually, I also want to draw some Dead Or Alive fanart as I'm a huge fan of that series, obviously including the sexy spin-off Xtreme games. And of course, I also really want to draw something Avatar 2 related - perhaps Kiri? She was super cute and I vibe a lot with her in that film... though evidently, it has been some time since the film released, so once again, I suppose I've missed the hype on that. Nonetheless, I've already seen the film twice so maybe it's a good excuse to give it another watch to feel re-inspired.

THE FOX-HOLE IS STILL OPEN!

To everyone who wants to keep warm during the cold winter, our Fox-hole is always open and welcoming new folk! We welcome people who'd love to hang out, chat a little, share memes and art they like, see more WIP's and those who just like to lurk! Honestly, everyone is welcome no matter what! There's no pressure to talk and if you feel like there's too many servers for you to keep up with, you're free to dip in from time to time and that's fine too. You're more than welcome in here!

The only condition is that you have to be 18 years old or over because we do share adult art and cosplays in some of the channels!

Other than that, it's a cosy server and it'd be lovely to see more faces about!
